Happy Valentine's Day!

Luke had a great time in preschool. Each of the kids decorated a Valentine's bag to put all their valentines in. He was pretty proud of his bag. He brought home lots of cute valentine's and some pretty creative ones too.

Dustin and Luke made a valentine treat for me. They bought a bunch of Hershey kisses and wrapped them up in aluminum foil like a Hershey kiss. The Tag said: "Happy Valentine's day. Hope you have a fun day. Love, LukemGrant, Dad" Way cute! And I loved the chocolate.

I didn't leave just one present for everyone, I left 9! One present to be opened every hour starting at 8:14 am until 4:14 pm. Luke drove Dustin crazy with his constant, "Is it time to open another present?"
Dustin had to teach him how to tell time off the microwave clock.
The presents included donuts for breakfast, a present for each person, valentines cards from me, kisses from me, and a fun art/coloring project and some other treats.

Luke received a Spiderman tool box

Grant got a front loader truck to play with
Valentine's Day was on a Tuesday this year and that is Luke's day to go to Grammy and Poppy's. This gave mom and dad the chance to go to a special Valentine's dinner at Applebee's.
Our date to our Valentine's dinner at Applbee's. Applebee's is the place that Dustin and I went on our first date. Oh the memories...

Love Songs After Dark and FHE

We had a love night for FHE. With Valentine's Day tomorrow we have been making valentine's

For a fun activity Luke picked hearts with songs written on them. We would then sing them and whenever we would sing the word 'love', we would raise our heart sticks. it was pretty fun. We sang Love One Another, I Know My Father Lives, Jesus Said Love Everyone, and Happy Family. Luke is getting so good at learning the songs in Primary so he actually knows some of the words.

Luke is getting better at writing his letters so he made his own valentine's this year.

Luke decorated these with a little help. He was so excited to give the gifts he made to his grandma's!

Dog Park

Luke and Daddy went to Tanner Park dog park to let the dogs work off some energy. The weather had been pretty warm considering the time of year, so it was a muddy mess. The dogs loved it and I think Luke thought it was pretty cool too. The park is a long loop that allowed Luke to explore a lot of little areas. His favorite was a little grotto formed from a cluster of trees. He was able to go in and pretend it was his house.
Luke also climbed a lot of hills with the dogs. They love running around with him. By the time we got back, Luke was exhausted. Not surprising considering we walked nearly five miles!

Playdate!

Luke enjoys having play dates with his friend Eva. They arebboth in the same preschool class together as well as the same Primary class and they really get along well. When they get together, you can pretty much just say, "Have fun!" and they will keep themselves occupied for two hours. They will come back every once in a while giggling and smiling and then go back to playing. This picture is of them watching something on Luke's "phone" (iPod touch).

Haircuts!!

(Always so serious!)
Luke was desperately in need of a haircut or at least a trim and so Dustin trimmed up the sides a bit. Luke held still until the hair all over his shoulders became itchy. It looked good though when Dustin finished.

So I thought Grant's sideburns are looking like they need a trim - let's try trimming his sides. Not the best of ideas. Have you ever tried to hold an 8 month old still why you hold a razor to his head? Yeah.
And the end result - was AWFUL!! It actually looked okay on one side but the other really didn't look that great.
I really miss the days of going to Emily and she takes care of it. Emily is the best!!

Happy Birthday Grandma B.!

It's Grandma's birthday so Jessica and her family and Seth took Grandma B. to dinner at the Cheesecake Factory and afterwards everyone came to our house for cake and ice cream.

We had chocolate cake and Grandma's favorite - mint chocolate chip ice cream. She had a little trouble blowing out her candles so Andrew and Tyson tried to help her but they couldn't blow them out either. (Probably becasue we had trick candles on the cake.)

The White Family gave Grandma B. an IPhone for her birthday and she was very excited about it. She spent the rest of the night setting everything up and quizzing the boys on how to use it. Of course they had no problem discussing phones for the rest of the night!

Scooter

Grant is now mobile. He definitely does not stay in one place for long. Grammy says he crawled for her but we have yet to see him crawl. His preferred method of movement is to scoot. He sits on his bum and pulls himself forward. It's really cute. He scoots so much that we now call him scooter!

He did manage to pull himself up this far but he couldn't get down on all fours. He just kinda rock a bit before he gave up!
