Grant's a Big Boy

Grant slept the entire night in his new bed. It was time for Grant to move to a big boy bed and stop sleeping in the crib.  Luke really wanted bunk beds and so Grant now sleeps in the lower bunk. Yay Grant!

Time Out

We recently started putting Grant in timeout when he's naughty and the surprising thing is that he actually stays until I tell him he can leave. His timeout is always the leather footstool that's in the baby's room. Apparently timeout is a fun thing for him because today I caught him reading a book while he was sitting there. Oh Grant!

Snow Day!!

When I heard the weather report that there was going to be a big snowstorm, I scrambled around to find snow clothes for the boys. Because I knew that as soon as the boys saw the snow, they would want to go outside and play in it.
They had barely finished breakfast before they were outside playing (for 3 hours).

Poor Dustin - I think he would have rather enjoyed the snow from inside our house (as I would).
Luke LOVES making snowmen. He's getting pretty good at it and he's creative about finding something for the face.

Grant seems to love snow, every time Dustin tried to take a picture of him - he was eating snow.

Mommy's Little Helper

Grant is my newest helper in the kitchen. If I even touch the canister that holds the flour, Grant is right there to help me. He LOVES to help. We made pizza for dinner tonight and Grant helped me roll it out (if you could call it help). He is such a cute little boy!

Anything You Can Do....

Grant is getting to be such a big boy. He wants to be like everyone else so even though I cut some corn off of the cob for him - not good enough. He had to have his own. And he LOVES it!

It's been so nice outside we decided to have dinner outside his Sunday.

Play time

The boys LOVE playing outside. They would play outside every day, all day if they could. With Grant only being 15 months old, he's not quite old enough to go out on his own and so Dustin will usually end up stayig outside with them for hours. Well he had to run inside for something, he was only gone a couple a minutes and when he came back, this is what he found. Guess who climbed up into the playset all by himself?

He loves it up there but it makes us nervous with how daring he is.

Haircuts!!

(Always so serious!)
Luke was desperately in need of a haircut or at least a trim and so Dustin trimmed up the sides a bit. Luke held still until the hair all over his shoulders became itchy. It looked good though when Dustin finished.

So I thought Grant's sideburns are looking like they need a trim - let's try trimming his sides. Not the best of ideas. Have you ever tried to hold an 8 month old still why you hold a razor to his head? Yeah.
And the end result - was AWFUL!! It actually looked okay on one side but the other really didn't look that great.
I really miss the days of going to Emily and she takes care of it. Emily is the best!!

Scooter

Grant is now mobile. He definitely does not stay in one place for long. Grammy says he crawled for her but we have yet to see him crawl. His preferred method of movement is to scoot. He sits on his bum and pulls himself forward. It's really cute. He scoots so much that we now call him scooter!

He did manage to pull himself up this far but he couldn't get down on all fours. He just kinda rock a bit before he gave up!

Grant

Grant is 8 months old today. He's growing so much and he can do lots more than he used to be able to. He tries to drink out of a sippy cup and he can feed finger foods to himself. He's a really big picky eater though - there isn't a lot that he will eat. Bananas are his favorite with green foods (spinach, peas and green beans) close behind. Such a funny kid.

Grant is definitely a mover. He's hard to keep on your lap and he never stays in one place anymore. He's always on the move. He's close to crawling and is really good at scooting. He is constantly trying to stand up and has succeeded in pulling himself up a few times like in his crib and on our bed.
Grant loves to play with his brother. He thinks Luke has some pretty cool toys. Grant has started playing with cars too so cars and trucks might be something they enjoy playing together.
(This could be a good thing or it could be a bad thing - we'll see what happens.)

Oh Grant! You're so cute!

Cutest Kids Ever!!

Don't you think?

Dustin was working in the garage and the kids were playing out there with him. Luke was in the mini and Grant in the Power Wheels truck.
WATCH OUT! Here comes Grant
